Breathe Deep NEPA’s Story
Pauline Makowski and her family/friends started Breathe Deep NEPA in 2011 to honor the memory of her husband, Allan Makowski Sr., after his courageous battle with Lung Cancer. He was a wonderful father, husband, and friend to all who knew him. Over the past 13 years Pauline, her family/friends and the dedicated volunteer committee members of Breathe Deep NEPA have raised awareness and funds for lung cancer research through various events including an annual 5k walk/fun run in Kirby Park.
Breathe Deep NEPA’s fundraising benefits Lungevity Foundation, whose efforts support programs all across the country to give crucial information to patients, caregivers, and survivors. The foundation also funds lifesaving research in the efforts to find a cure.

We hope to see you all at the Bingo on October 12th. The theme of travel and adventure is connected to Allan Makowski Sr.’s memory. An active outdoorsman, and avid traveler, we felt the theme relevant in remembrance of his life and encouragement of others to enjoy all the world has to offer. If you cannot attend, please consider donating to our overall fundraising goal on our webpage! Thank you for your support!
