Our team is participating in Breathe Deep TOGETHER and raising crucial funding to support all those living with lung cancer! 

As student advocates from the George Washington University’s chapter of the American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative (GW ALCSI), we are committed to making a difference in lung cancer awareness and prevention, and improving health outcomes in our community! We are passionate about advocating for higher rates of lung cancer screening in Washington, D.C. Lung cancer is a critical health issue, and early detection can save lives. By participating in this walk/run, we aim to raise awareness and funds to support this important cause.

Who We Are

GW ALCSI is a student-run organization at George Washington University. Our members come from diverse academic backgrounds, including pre-med, public health, policy, and other related fields. We are united by our passion for improving health outcomes and raising awareness about lung cancer screening.

Our Mission

1) To educate our campus and local community about the importance of lung cancer screening, 2) To advocate for policies that increase access to screening programs in Washington, D.C., and 3) To support research initiatives focused on early detection and prevention of lung cancer

Why We're Participating

1) We recognize the critical importance of early detection in fighting lung cancer, 2) We believe that by raising awareness and funds, we can contribute to improving lung cancer screening rates in our community, and 3) This walk/run is an opportunity for us to put our passion into action and make a tangible difference
