Who are we?

Rice University American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative (ALCSI; https://www.alcsi.org/), a university branch of the ALCSI nonprofit organization of over 50 chapters, including students and doctors working to raise awareness of lung cancer and lung cancer screening in communities around the country.

Rice ALCSI is made up of undergraduate student passionate about the early detection of lung cancer. We have held events throughout Houston and the Rice campus educating the community about lung cancer screening. In addition, we have held events making ribbons and goodies for lung cancer patients and invited guest speakers to educate the Rice student body.

Mission

Our mission is to increase lung cancer screening awareness and save lives, advocate for lung cancer screening in the Houston community, and aid in research for the early detection of lung cancer.

When and Where?

Rice ALCSI is partnering with LUNGevity to host a lung cancer awareness walk at the Rice University Stadium on November 16th, 2024. Our hope is to invite participants all over Houston in order to make the biggest impact.
