Ivy was diagnosed with stage IV EGFR-positive lung cancer in December 2013 at 47 years old. Although it was a devastating diagnosis, Ivy thrived for 10 years, thanks to innovative research and treatments that emerged just when she needed them most. Ivy's resolve and dedication to making a difference transformed her experience into a mission, becoming a pillar of support and a source of wisdom for countless individuals worldwide—her ability to instill hope and share knowledge changed lives in mere moments.

In 2017, Ivy co-founded the EGFR Resisters Patient and Caregiver group, a community dedicated to supporting those affected by EGFR lung cancer and accelerating research to make it a manageable chronic disease. Ivy's tireless dedication, inspiring leadership, and collaborative spirit were a force in the growth of the organization, and she was most proud that in just five years, the group raised over $1 million to fund patient-led, patient-driven research. Her magnetic personality and unwavering commitment leave a lasting legacy that will continue to be felt by thousands of people whose lives she touched and changed forever.

In honor of Ivy's extraordinary life and her relentless fight against lung cancer, we have established a memorial fund dedicated to continuing her mission. This fund will support EGFR-positive lung cancer research and initiatives Ivy was passionate about, ensuring a focus on patient-centered research, care, and support. Funding decisions will be made in partnership with and approval from the EGFR Resisters.
